Devine Centuri has only made a handful of appearances at the races through her short career so far, but has more than stamped herself as one to watch in posted a total of four wins and two minors through her six starts.

Having come through a typically strong performance for success over a classy field in the Green Options Racing 3.y.o Handicap (1050m) a fortnight ago, Kendrick told AAP the I Am Invincible filly has continued to improve and has earned a shot at maiden Group 1 glory in the 2016 Doomben 10,000.

“The work was good enough for us to roll the dice and have a go at the 10000,” Kendrick said.

“The winter has always been our aim.”

Trialling well in the lead up to her competitive debut, Divine Centuri immediately announced herself to the Australian racing community with an impressive performance to win the Wattle Brae Stud Maiden Plate (1200m) by close to two lengths in June, before immediately returning to the paddock.

Resuming this time for second in the Supaview Security/Sunscreen Plate (1200m) on February 28th, Divine Centuri returned to winning form in the Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup Day Plate (1110m) on March 16th.

Set for a tilt at the Group 3 PJ Bell Stakes (1200m) at Randwick during The Championships, Kendrick elected to bypass the race with the filly after drawing wide, and instead entered her in the Adrenaline Thoroughbreds Handicap (1050m) at Doomben, in which she finished third.

Jumping from the gates well in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate (1000m) on April 23rd, Divine Centuri took an ideal position in transit on the heels of the race’s early leaders before mustering an impressive turn of foot to find the line a length and a half ahead of a classy field which included Sold For Song and Big Tree.

The 2016 Doomben 10,000 field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
